ELECTRONIC WASTE, HAZARDS, & HOW WE CAN MANAGE THEM

At DCTCG, one of the many technical spects when selecting a product or doing business with other consultants and retailers is taking into consideration the ecological footprint. We also want to remind all our clients that anything with a circuit board in in shouldn't be thrown in a landfill and requires special recycling measures. This is largely due to the trace amounnts of lead, mercury and other hazardous materials used in creating telectronic circuitry. Largely everything today has one now, right down to your toaster and household devices you wouldn't think would be a possible harmful contaminant.

Remember to Recycle

Electromagnetic fields (EMF's) are a type of radiation and environmental hazard that we try to consider when recommending new or used equipment to a client. Most computer screens (LCD's and flatscreen models) have drastically reduced their amount of EMF's they radiate compared to the old CRT monitors of the past. So if you're still sitting in front of of a huge monitor that could also be used as a space heater, it may be a good time to call us to haul it away for you... A new flatscreen is so much better on the eyes as well.

DISPOSING OF E-WASTE

We would be happy to arrange for or transport your old, damaged or broken computer parts and equipment to an electronic waste facility. There are several in the L.A. area and Orange County and there is no charge to dispose, since most of these are managed by the county or city.
